Description: Hard-to-find mug in a limited edition pattern called "Torquay Green (Gold Trim)," manufactured by Mottahedeh of England from 1986-2001. The Torquay pattern is a licensed reproduction of a transfer-printed design from Staffordshire, England circa 1820, commissioned by the Winterthur Museum. The blue version of Torquay is still made today but the green version was discontinued and is now considered quite rare. The design has an all-over tiny green seaweed pattern punctuated by large motifs of seashells around the outside, on an ivory ground. The interior rim of the mug has a thick green band of more seashells and the handle has a small wavy line pattern. There is thin gold trim around the rim and the handle as well. The mug measures 3" tall by 3" in diameter. I have 17 of these mugs available to sell and I am selling them individually so that you can buy as many as you like. The price that you see is for ONE mug only. Sixteen of the mugs are in very good condition with no chips or cracks...they may have tiny imperfections such as a skip in the transferware, light crazing on the bottom, a little wear to the gold trim or some errant green paint or blue dye marks on the bottom. None of these are noticeable and are to be expected, as these pieces were meant to be true reproductions using the original transferware methods. Please see the photos for examples. The 17th mug is shown in the last 3 photos; this one has significant crazing all over so I am selling it for $15, not $30 as with the other sixteen.
