Text description beneath the picture (subject to any spelling errors due to the OCR program used) NEW STYLE: MOTOR CARS AT BRIGHTON. That the day of the motor car is close at hand can hardly be doubted. The bicycle has been the cause of a marvellous advance in the construction of vehicles cornbiiiing to an extraordinary degree lightness and strength. The ever-restless genius of the engineer has given us motors which combine the maxiIum of power and efficiency with the minimum of bulk and weight; the combined progress of the steel-worker and the engineer has produced a motor by a natural evolution. The struggle between the oil engine, the steam engine, and the electric motor is not yet decided; it is indeed probable that each will serve its own special purpose. Meanwhile the motor car, in one shape or another, is already becoming an institution, and will before long cease to be a curiosity. Here we see it achieving its early triumphs. As is just, a lady appears in the van of progress.
