Description: 1610 Missale Romanum Ex Decreto Sacrof. Concilij Tridentini restitutum PIIV Pontificis Maximi IVSSV EDITUM Et Clementis VIII Printed in 1610, this missal is fully leather bound and features a floral motif around the edges of the front and back covers as well as the spine. It measures approximately 11” by 8” by 2”. It is a fine example of the new typical edition of the Roman Missal promulgated by Pope Clement XIII in 1604. It standardized the prior version promulgated by Pope Pius V, which had undergone changes made by independent publishers over several decades. “Typical” in this context, means that publishers were obliged to conform to this specific text. Poor condition. The spine is intact but feels brittle. The illustrations have been “censured” (please see photo).
