Description: A gorgeous American Modernist industrial maritime view from artist/lithographer Richard Florsheim (1916-1979). This lithograph is titled "Buoy", dates from 1968 and is an extremely powerful mid-century abstracted view of a sea buoy set against the backdrop of a heavily smoked sky above an industrialized shoreline, it is likely inspired by the Lake Michigan shore around East Chicago. The lithograph was published by Associated American Artists and printed at the Mourlot Press in Paris. Good size, the image measures 18 1/8 x 13 7/8 inches, sheet size is approx. 20 x 16 inches with a deckle edge at bottom. It is hand signed in pencil and numbered by the artist and is printed in black ink on watermarked Arches wove paper. Has a little toning towards the edges, but no tape residue or mat lines, it is in very good condition, does not appear to have ever been framed. Florsheim has work included in the permanent collections of: the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Library of Congress, among many others as well as works in sixteen foreign museums.
