Description: Mid-Century LOS CASTILLO Mexico Silverplate Inlaid Gemstone Jewelry / Candy Dish This awesome piece was made around the 1940s by famous jewelry designer Los Castillo in Taxco, Mexico and features a very powerful Mayan or Aztec inlaid gemstone design in the shape of an open shell. Good vintage condition. Some patina and minor corrosion according to age. This stylish piece measures approx. 6 3/4" long x 4 3/4" wide x 1 3/8" high. Marked "Plateado" (Plated) and carrying Los Castillo's designer mark along with a "Hecho a Mano - Mexico" (handmade - Mexico) mark. A very rare mid-century Mexican designer piece!
