Description: A wonderful, mid century letter opener was paired with modern tamp hardware to make this curious smoking tool. When I acquired this piece, I was under the impression that it was bakelite. It is not. But the weighty feel, gorgeous patina and charming character prompted me to press on...not letting its petroleum plastic roots stop me. I'm so glad that I did...I love this guy. Looks and feels amazing, rests, proudly, in the hand... has a slightly accusing stare. This is my first "plastic" tamper, and I stand by my decision offer the piece.
