All mice came from new retail boxes, but the rubbery/grip coating had deteriorated and broken down over time. It was a mess of black sticky adhesive gunk. As I have purchased and worked on a great many of these, I managed to slowly accumulate enough side panels with the textured coating still in very good condition, to assemble this pair of unicorns. The base, silver top sections, and all internal components are brand new, and the special textured coating on all sides is completely dry to the touch and in excellent shape.
