This handmade German antique marble has a finely faceted pontil indicating that it dates from an early production period, between 1850 to 1880. Mica marbles have a limited but often intense range of colours; with a simple but elemental beauty ensuring their special place as one of the most charming German marbles. They are neither gaudy or complex, but have a clear or coloured transparent matrix imbued with light, reflected from a galactic swirl of glistening mica particles.
