Description: Metro Double Flake Metro Double Flake Metro Double Flake is an easy way to dose metronidazole at the first sign of disease and while fish are still interested in food. This flake contains a double dose of metronidazole for those tough times where a little extra is necessary to hit parasites hard at the first sign. This is also the flake used in our fishroom. The use of medicated foods is the only way to effectively treat internal disease. Coupled with elevated heat 86-90F / 30-32C treatment becomes even more effective for treating hemamita. Metronidazole is an anti-protozoan fish medication used to treat hexamita, hole in the head disease, Malawi bloat, chilodonella, freshwater ich and epistylis. Does NOT treat most parasites, such a trematodes and other common worms. Treatment: Feed 1-2 times a day for a week. May be repeated if necessary. We treat our own tanks by raising the temperature to 86F/30C or higher during treatment. May be used concurrently with Epsom Salt to help clear out the gut more efficiently.
