Description: Medieval Armenian silver belt plate. Perfect collectible piece. Ex CNG. [Antiquities] ARMENIAN. Silver belt plate. 12th-13th century AD. Length 60mm, 24g. Flat base silver belt piece with loops for attachment on the back. The face of the plate is engraved with a female-headed bird perched on a flower. She wears an Armenian trilobe crown, with a rudimentary tamgha on her breast. Dramatic and bold engraving style, well preserved. Slightly granular surfaces to the metal. A collectable piece of history in an excellent condition. This item was acquired in 2005 from CNG (Classical Numismatic Group) auction. Shipped USPS with tracking.
