The World Veterans Federation (WVFE) is an international non-governmental organization, headquartered in Paris. Founded in 1950 in Paris (France) by founding members from 8 countries, namely: Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Turkey, the United States and Yugoslavia, the FMAC is today a Federation of 172 veterans' organizations from 121 countries representing approximately 45 million veterans worldwide.The FMAC has enjoyed consultative status with the United Nations since 1951 and received the title of “Messenger of Peace” in 19871. The main objectives of the FMAC are to defend the spiritual and material interests of veterans and victims of war and their families by all legal means available and to maintain international peace and security through the letter and application of spirit of the Charter of the United Nations and respecting the human rights and fundamental freedoms set out in the International Bill of Human Rights.
