Description: Fantastic piece of Rare Mid Century Modern Art Studio Pottery by Bertil Vallien. He was one of the artists working for the renown Hal Fromhold Studio in Los Angeles circa 1960. Bertil went on to be a famous glass maker for Kosta Boda.This hippo w/ blue birds piece is so fabulous with a deep green glaze background and a natural stoneware hippo. The hippo birds are much harder to find then the lions. Wonderful texture and such an appealing graphic design.
