Description: This is a contorted Tully Monster fossil in Francis Creek shale rock from the Mazon Creek fossil beds in Grundy County, Illinois. The fossil has Pit 11 and the date 2-6-70 written on the back. Mazon Creek fossils date back to the Pennsylvanian Period around 309 million years ago. The concretion rock matrix measures 4.125" x 2.5" x .5" thick (approximately) and weighs 5 oz. The monster measures 3.75" long and is in good condition. Comes with a FREE Riker box display.
