The Amazing Spider-Man #252 has the distinction of being the first appearance of the Black Costume that would later form the basis for Venom, along with Secret Wars #8, Marvel Team-Up #141 and/or Spectacular Spider-Man #90 (unless you're one of THOSE people and know Marvel Age #12 and the Comics Journal #85 predate all of the actual comics). Anyway, Spidey returns from the Secret Wars and has a nifty new outfit that can do all kinds of nifty things that maybe Reed Richards should check out but he'd better buy a reprint or trade paperback as well because this here comic has been CGC graded at a 9.4 (Near Mint) and if he cracks that open it can definitely affect the value but have no fear - Reed Richards is the smartest guy in the Marvel Universe and he totally knows better. The Amazing Spider-Man #252 is a definite Milestone and definitely is a showpiece item for any comic book collection and the price never seems to go down, though this is not a guarantee that the price will go up. No one can guarantee that but, having bought this off the rack when it was new, I can assure you it's worth more now that the $0.65 that I paid for it back then. Worth checking out, of course.
