Description: Maxfield Parrish’s “Sugar-Plum Tree” - Original Matted and Period-Framed Color Illustration (facing page 28) from the 1904 ‘First’ Edition of Eugene Field’s ‘Poems Of Childhood’. Image size is 7 1/4” x 5” Outermost frame dimensions are 10 3/4”x 8 7/8”. The color and condition are excellent. MP signature bottom left corner (photo #8). ‘Sugar-Plum Tree’ first appeared as a black & white frontispiece in the December, 1902 issue of ‘Ladies Home Journal’, then as an illustration in the 1904 ‘Poems Of Childhood’ (and several subsequent editions) and finally as a print in 1905. Quite a nice size/cost alternative to the ‘rare’ print (Ref. Flacks 4th Ed. page 56, photo #17). Note: The first 12 photos are taken without glass to avoid reflection/glare issues. Photos 14 (slight angle), 15 & 16 after completion of project. Note: The last 7 photos (18 thru 24), the book itself, are shown for provenance, the book is ‘Not’ included, the two pages of the poem (page 28 & 29, photos 23 & 24) and tissue lining ‘Will’ be included.
