Description: This is a custom 11-12" figure of fictional western TV character, US Marshal Matt Dillon from the tv show "Gunsmoke". Gunsmoke was one of the longest running television shows in history with a 20 year run from 1955 through 1975 on CBS. James Arness played the part of US Marshal Matt Dillon. Dillon was a fair, but no nonsense lawman. Among his friend were several of the townspeople of Dodge City. Chester Goode was Matt's deputy and best friend. Dennis Weaver played the role of Chester. Doc Adams (played by Milburn Stone) was the town doctor and a very good friend of Matt's. Chester and Doc would normally argue or carry on like they were anything but friends but they always looked out for each other. Matt's steady girlfriend was Kitty Russell. Miss Kitty was played by Amanda Blake. Miss Kitty was the owner of the Long Branch saloon the favorite gathering place for Matt, Doc, and Chester. Another main character in the early years was Quint Asper, blacksmith (played by Burt Reynolds) and sometimes deputy. There were a handful of different bartenders throughout the years but the most remembered bartender was Sam (Glenn Strange). There were a lot of interesting characters that passed through Dodge from time to time. From gamblers, gunfighters, cowboys, saloon gals, farmers, ranchers, and the like there was never a dull moment in Dodge City. This was one of the coolest shows on tv when it was on. you can sometimes find this series on dvd or channels that run old westerns or tv series. While this figure does not look exactly like the Matt Dillon/James Arness, there is a bit of a resemblance. the figure displays well. gun belt and holster are custom made with six-gun and hat from marxman. sold as is. this item is designed for display and not play for the old west or tv fan.stand included. Please note the following-when a figure is a custom figure that means it is not a licensed product,or "official" but something the customizer did by combining figures and accessories from different makers and toy releases to come up with the custom figure or figures. I started customizing figures a few years back because I couldn't find more than a handful of "official" releases and unable to find figures of people I wanted to collect. I checked in to the market of custom figures. Most of the custom figures available back then cost several hundred dollars, so, I started doing my own. Because I needed to support my new hobby, I started selling some custom figures. My prices reflect my acquisition cost, time involved, and some profit. Thanks for the look, have fun shopping!Shipping and Handling as follows: Domestic-priority mail- $15.00 1st item, $8.00 each additional item. items are normally shipped out within a day or two of cleared payment.
