About the Farm Our single origin matcha is sourced from a sustainable, fourth-generation family farm located in the Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan. Matcha grows through the winter and is traditionally shaded for the final 3-4 weeks of growth. Innovatively, this farm uses solar panels to provide the necessary shade that, in turn, generate power for nearby towns. The plants are grown without pesticides and fertilized using organic compost from the local community, thereby maintaining a closed-loop system.
