Description: The GPC is a grand concert sized made in America (Nazareth, PA) six string. This has a hybrid Fishman/ LR Baggs electronics system allowing you to blend two sound inputs which have different characteristics. I believe that the 'Special 'was a Guitar Center only model. These are made with highest quality woods and this one has an Ovangkol body. All solid wood construction (no laminate). If you are unfamiliar with Ovangkol it is a sound somewhere between rosewood and mahogany. The backside is a satin finish, but front is a beautiful gloss. Hey they had to keep costs down somewhere (it's not a >3K guitar) It's a cutaway body style has fresh strings and comes in factory padded soft backpack case. Includes Fishman and Martin guitar maintenance manuals. I added (and are included) Martin liquid metal bone saddle pins (note red dots) which are $200 alone. Tuners are accurate and smooth, electronics function perfectly, I've very much enjoyed the feel of fingers on the fretboard and the gorgeous sound thus produces for a couple of years and only selling to make way for another Martin. Stays tuned. This is not a road series or a 11 or 13 model- they save money in a couple of places. Compares in quality to the 16 series (all solid construction, real binding, sound hole adorning, Martin-exclusive bracing, high quality hardwoods, tuners and electronics).
