Description: Marra Mamba slab (shown dry in the pictures) that is approximately 3 1/2 inches x 2 1/4 inches at the longest and widest locations. The weight is 67.8 grams (339 carats). There is an old crack and some pitting in the crack area, but the other areas are nice (see the pictures). There are several nice cabochon possibilities on this piece.Marra Mamba Tiger Eye has chatoyant layers that dance shafts of color across the stone. It is a macro crystalline Quartz displaying chatoyancy in the layers of gold and brown to black. It's fibrous asbestos layers of Crocidolite were replaced over time with Chalcedony keeping the original shape of the fibers thus aiding in the chatoyant look. This stone comes from Australia out of a vintage supply that is no longer available today unless from old collections.We don't alter the colors in our photographs, though digital photo colors vary between cameras and depending on the lighting where the photos are taken so please view all photos before purchasing. Naturally lighted photos will be provided whenever possible, but some photos are taken indoors. Photos of this piece were taken indoors, mainly dry but a few were taken wet to display the potential of this piece.
