Description: Greetings. Offered for sale is the original artwork from the XENOZOIC trade paperback (which collects all of the Xenozoic Tales comic book stories) by Mark Schultz. The illustration was published as a title page illustration or chapter heading for the comic book story "Another Swarm" in the Flesk Publications' XENOZOIC trade paperback. Description:-Art Type: Illustration used as a chapter heading or title page illustration in the Xenozoic trade paperback. -Medium: Pen and brush ink over pencil/graphite on art board.-Publisher: Flesk Publications, LLC-Publication Date: The art is undated (approximately 2010). -Dimensions: 7.5" wide by 6.25" tall (board dimensions; image slightly smaller).-Signed: Yes. The art is initialed "MS" in the image area (white ink) and signed "M. Schultz" in the bottom margin. -Description: This is the original artwork for a title page illustration or chapter heading for the comic book story "Another Swarm" by Mark Schultz (b. 1955). This art was published in the trade paperback Xenozoic (various editions/printings 2010-2021 Flesk Publications) and is shown on page 325 of the 2021 edition (see final two photos). The story "Another Swarm" was originally published in the Xenozoic Tales comic book issue #14 (the last issue published to date; Kitchen Sink Press October 1996) and features Jack and Hannah caught up in the political intrigue of Wassoon. Lord Drumheller has captured a creature in the swamps which he believes to be a Harvestman. The Harvestman, aka a Cogspider, is a subterranean dwelling creature which looks something like a mutated spider (25' across, 8 legs, 1 eye) and provides the old bloods with much of their otherwise unobtainable materials. Jack, Hannah and a cadre of old bloods travel underground to the pen where the creature is imprisoned, confirm that it is a Harvestman, and Hannah frees it to rejoin its brethren. This is a wonderful image of one of the Harvestman, rendered with a dexterous brush by a modern master of illustration/comic art. The trade paperback is not included with the art.
