Description: Vintage Mark Coomer (American, 1914-2004) serigraph on board, featuring genre scene of a woman baking bread, titled Raleigh Tavern Baker, rendered with vibrant hues and an overall sense of flatness, signed on the bottom left.Other prints are listed in my shop, including several works of Coomer. Born in Bay City, Michigan, Mark Coomer studied art in Chicago and Detroit before eventually settling in Arizona. He is known for his paintings and serigraphs, often depicting street patioscapes and urban city scenes. Coomer did almost all of his own printing, limiting his editions to 100. His preferred ground for his prints was masonite board, which combined with the permanent nature of his oil-based inks, were advertised as “washable”. Coomer exhibited his paintings and limited edition serigraphs nationally, and many can be found in private collections and institutions including the Chicago Art Institute; Challis Galleries, Laguna Beach, California; and The West and Walter-Bimson Western Art Collection housed at the University of Arizona Museum of Art. In very good vintage condition with some minimal imperfections. Please view all photos and email me with any questions. Measures approx. 12" x 9"H
