Description: The first time I heard of Marianne Faithfull was around 1965 as the girlfriend of one or more of the Rolling Stones. I heard the single "As Tears Go By" later, possibly decades later. The next time I heard of her was nearly twenty years later when a very groovy friend of mine played "Broken English." I loved the record and got myself a copy some time later. I was equally shocked and excited by how rougher her voice had become from that early single. Another few dozens years brought her to my attention again with this album. I have to suppose she gets the bulk of the credit for the song selection over all the albums because they are so consistently strong. This is an excellent production, a great showcase for that delicately gravely voice. This will ship in a new high quality poly sleeve and the unused download card will also come along with it.
