Description: Description Marchevitch Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition SACD TOWER RECORDSProduct introductionPlanned for the 110th anniversary of Markevitch's birth. The latest reproduction of one of the best masterpieces recorded with LGO in 1973.Kegel's "Uguisu no Uta" is included in the margin. World's first SACD!Mastering only in the analog area, direct DSD!Home country ETERNA original analog tape latest reprint project SACD hybrid 21stRecording of a one-time session for both the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and Schallplatten in Germany in 1973. Markevitch's Pictures at an Exhibition reminds me of the sharp DG 1953 edition with the Berlin Philharmoniker and the 1983 performance of the NHK Symphony Orchestra in his last years. After all, it is this 60-year-old board that symbolizes the genius. While based on the heavy sound of a traditional orchestra, the shadowy tone that makes you feel a little different from the original color of Ravel makes the listener feel closer to the original Mussorgsky style. In particular, Markevitch's deep reading of the score, including the depth of "Old Castle", "Buidro", and "Catacombs" and the contrast with the parts where high-quality musical instruments such as trumpets play an active part, is unique to Markevitch. Since its release, it can be said that it is one of Markevitch's representative recordings. With conventional CDs, the performance tended to be buried in the sober sound, but when listening to the latest reissue from the original analog master tape of this home country, why Markevitch left this recording with LGO. I feel like I can see a part of the reason. Mr. Stickel's ability to bring out the sound left by the master obediently, and the environment in which the tape was stored in good condition, must be a sound source that should be listened to with high sound quality. And, "Night on Bald Mountain" is also overwhelmed by the realism that brings out the expression hidden in the original song while eliminating the flashiness. The coupling "Uguisu no Uta" was recorded in 1983, and is a precise and calm performance that is typical of Kegel in later years. As with other Stravinsky recordings, I am amazed at the unique look, perhaps because of the terrifying realism of Kegel. Compared to the slightly mundane first half of this album, the composition and background of the song is significantly different, but please enjoy the original sophistication of the song and the contrast with the performance of the former East Germany. At the time of this reprint, the master tape was air-fed from the label to the studio of mastering engineer Christoph Stickel who lives in Vienna, mastered in the analog domain, and then digitized as DSD for the SACD layer. Commercialized by using a separate system for PCM for the CD layer. In this project, we have achieved mastering in the ideal way currently possible. The effect is remarkable, it is possible to reproduce the quality left on the master tape extremely faithfully, and mastering only in the analog area and direct DSD conversion bring about a more sound quality effect. It is surprisingly clear and has a higher resolution than before, so you can expect further evaluation of the performance. In addition, the photo of the outer box of the original analog master tape used this time is also posted in color in the manual.Work information MainConductors: Igor Markevitch, Herbert KegelOrchestra: Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra OthersComposer: Modest Mussorgsky, Igor Stravinsky Contents Number of configurations | 1 sheetTrack Listing1.
