Marc Serie 1037 No. 56 Sterile Bros., Publishers, Zurich Printed in Switzerland Description Printed on a heavy watercolor paper stock with natural, rough edges, this vintage lithograph looks and feels like an original watercolor. It is a stunning 1940s lithograph of the highest quality, with vibrant colors, having been stored flat and sealed in a dark space for almost 80 years. As described on Worthpoint: "The Stehli Frères lithos were usually printed on a nice heavier watercolor-like paper stock with rough edges to give the appearance of an actual watercolor painting and were done with very high lithographic quality at the time. Provenance This piece hails from a collection of vintage artwork that I acquired from a print dealer in the late 1990s. Long retired by the time I met him, he still had a vast collection of lithographs and etchings from the 1930s and 1940s, all of which he had purchased directly from the publisher during that time period. Most still remained in their original paper packaging - untouched! By the time I came into his collection, it had been stored flat and sealed for almost 50 years. I had my own eBay art business for a time before moving on to other things, and once again these pieces were placed in storage for another 20+ years. I am now downsizing and looking to liquidate my remaining collection. This is a rare opportunity to own an authentic piece of history that has truly withstood the test of time.
