Mine has some capacity of working. I charge for shipping because to take a lot to get it to you safely. New bands? An electric test? A part? The guy I bought it from said it needs new bands for the tape player. Perhaps it does need new bands also? I tested it, and I got it to work! Tape Player worked, although it was inconsistent and not great quality. It's a bit warbley, and it got better as it warmed up. Fast forward, and rewind did work. Then I found the main issue, it was the internal/external Dolby switch. I believe there is a short in the switch. There are no smells of a short, burning, ozone. But it does make a loud popping distortion when switching from external to internal Dobly. Also, the Left and Right meters were not working, but then they did as I played with the Dolby switch. Finally, when I turned it off, they were peaked. Both reading peak and stayed there. Overall, the condition is pretty decent, not beat up too badly. There are some scratches on the top right. There are worn marks on the FF&Rew and a dent in metal below the play button. All the button for the tape player worked. The back and bottom look good. All of the problems revolve around that Dobly switch. At first, nothing would come through, then very quietly, then it worked. I so wanted it to work as many times I bought did work and I really like Marantz quality. But overall, it needs repairs. It's a parts/repairs item. Seems like a solid project for repair. *Please review pics and video as they are a part of the accurate description. *As is. Part or Needs Repair condition.
