Description: MAPLE WOOD ROCKING CHAIR, Very Good Condition. This rocking chair is my grandmothers and she emigrated to the Boston area April 1911 from Scotland and acquired the chair shortly after. She passed away the night the space age started Oct. 4,1957(Russian Sputnik1 was launched). My mother had it until her passing Jan.1998 Woodburn OR. This rocking chair has been verified by the Stickley Furniture Co., Manlius, NY. It is a Salem Rocker, the difference is the number of small back spines, look at the other rockers and count the small back spines and you will come up with 6, a Salem Rocker has 7 small back spines. My Salem Rocker has no Nichols and Stone brand on the bottom it has the model # 69-6 and the word Maple next to it. The brand is missing because of oversight or broken branding irons?? Stickley Furniture Co. purchased Nichols and Stone in 2008.
