When designing each unique piece, I see the smaller, fragile twigs and give lots of thought to removing them for shipping but usually choose to leave them on because of the unique characteristics. So, 9 times out of 10, it will arrive intact and you get the original design. Unfortunately, there is the chance that one little twig breaks off but the main piece will still be intact. Also, each piece has been thoroughly cleaned with high powered sand then sanded smooth. I am not an expert on aquariums so any further soaking or removal of tannins is up to you. I'm a wood worker and am offering uniquely shaped, cleaned exotic wood pieces for many applications
