Description: MAINE - ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE - PERMANENT LICENSE PLATE - BANTAM AUTO My Dad was a car collector and restorer, and a Charter Member of the Automobile License Plate Collector Association (ALPCA) founded in 1954. As a child I remember him packing plates in the basement to send off in trade with other members. He built many plate collections, and sold them all. When he died, I took over his remaining plates which were basically ones that had been on his own cars. My kids will not know what to do with all the things I have, so it is time to place my great items in new homes. I will always have the memories. Check my other auctions for more license plates. Besides Model Ts, my Dad loved American Austins and Bantams. He had many of them. He also had friends with addresses around the country, and when Maine began issuing Antique Auto (Horseless Carriage - Historic Auto) plates, he registered his Bantam Roadster in Maine and got this plate. My best guess is that he obtained this plate in the 1970s or 1980s.
