They have light surface rust so this is a restoration project. The owner said they were fabricated in the 1880's and were professionally used for magic Lantern shows. They are pre-cinema and very rare. One can convert these racks to make light boxes to display your slide collection. The size is perfect for a window display and if you have more than one this display can become a seasonal thing. There is nothing like this anywhere else on the Internet. Besides displaying and storing slides, the function of these racks were to generate a series of slides for story telling. Before the pastor got these racks they were owned by a museum.
