Description: LOVELY LE VERRE FRANCAIS / CHARLES SCHNEIDER 'PÂTE-DE-VERRE' GLASS TABLE LAMP This is a wonderful, rare, and genuine period hand blown 'Pâte-de-Verre' glass table lamp designed by (probably) Charles Schneider at the Epinay-sur-Seine factory Paris which dates, I would guess, to between post World War One to the latter 1920’s. It is depicted in a stylised mushroom form with shade and base rendered in the predominately blue Pâte-de-Verre technique on a matt white ground with the shade supported by three spokes with decorative bronzed leaf endings, while both shade and base are illuminated when lit - see photographs 8 & 9. It is marked to the bottom edge of shade and base with the hand etched Le Verre Francais mark and a Cross of Lorraine - see photographs and details. It measures 16" (41cm) H x 6" (15cm) W (across the base of the shade) approx; and is in excellent condition with no defect at all to report – again see photographs and details. This is a wonderful piece of period French Art Deco hand blown glass from a master of the medium in a really great unique design and is in fine, working (see the illuminated photographs) condition that with a realistic, yet low, start price should get considerable interest from all collectors.
