Description: A wonderful antique Art Deco 18k gold garnet, ruby and diamond scrolling 5-stone ring, hallmarks for Harrison & Sons, 1917. This gorgeous antique early Art Deco movement solid 18k yellow gold every-day gemstone ring has five lovely mixed old cut gems set into a protective boat shape setting, the ring with a central round faceted prong-set natural garnet which glows a gorgeous deep red in the light, a further natural garnet and natural ruby glow on the end with two natural glittering white diamonds between, the gallery has pierced circles and light catching undulations leading to fabulous scrolling fleur-de-lys shoulders and a classic gently graduating band-a very beautiful ring! The ring has full English hallmarks inside the band with maker 'H&S' for Harrison & Sons, the crown for gold, '18', the Birmingham anchor and date letter 'S' for 1917. The ring tests for 18k gold. The ring sits approximately halfway between a size 7 1/4 and a 7 1/2. The ring measures about 10mm x 3mm across the stones. The central garnet measures about 2mm, the other gemstones approximately +/-1mm. The ring is about 7.1mm wide at the front graduating down to approximately 2.5mm at the back. The ring rises approximately 4mm above the finger and weighs about 2.7 grams. The ring is in excellent condition with all over general wear. The ruby probably replaced an original garnet.
