The jacket's body is made of a deep rich bronze/ gold Chantilly lace, which has a rich glow. Further embellished with a black ruffled lace trim around the entire piece. Bright metallic gold cord in a fleur de lis adds another layer of splendor. The jacket is lined in a lightweight black satin. The sleeves are tight but have a lace balloon on the upper arm. The transition to the bottom is circled with tassels. The tight wrist ends with lace and gold cording. The shoulders are padded to give shape and structure. The jacket's single front closure is an oversized fabric corded frog.The bodice has an Irish embroidered insert that snaps on one side. The cut of the jacket is in keeping with the Victorian sensibility. Large and puffy but tight at waist. A figure flattering design that has stood the test of time.
