Description: I work for a goldsmith and I got these pearls from his pearl dealer, George Hajjar of Seven Seas Pearls. George deals exclusively with saltwater cultured pearls: Tahitian, South Sea and Japanese Akoya. He doesn't do freshwater and he doesn't buy anything from China. These pearls are baroque and while they aren't twins, they both have high luster, nice drop shapes, and the same great icy blue color that looks different in different lights. My boss made the stud/chain fittings from spare parts. Butterfly backs are included. All metal is 14 karat gold -- not plated and not filled. The dainty chain is 1mm thick. The ball studs are 3.5mm The total drop of each earring is 43mm (1.7"). The studs are stamped "14KT" and "ITALY" on the posts. The backs are stamped 14K. I acid tested the chain segments to make sure they too are 14 karat gold (they are) and can send you photo of scratch test results if you're interested. These earrings weigh 2.43 grams, including the backs. Thanks for looking
