The poster design was based upon Bert Stern's famous photograph of Lolita actress Sue Lyon. The poster is a very late example of the beauty of lithography, which became too expensive and time consuming to use broadly by the 1960s. Roger Soubie had a remarkable career, creating more than two thousand film posters, as well as many fine travel posters.
