The lid was placed in a mild lye bath to remove the old seasoning.If rust was present, the lid was placed in a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water.The lid was washed multiple times using Dawn dishwashing soap.Finally, the lid was seasoned (one hour at 400 degrees three times) with Carrington organic flaxseed oil.
