ABOUT THE ARTIST Linda Kolar was a New Jersey based painter who painted portraits and landscapes in oils with a combination of direct color and careful drawing, usually from a live subject, or with the use of photo references. In the late 1960's, Ms. Kolar began her studies at the Art Students' League of New York. She began exhibiting her works in the late 1980's and won many awards in local and regional shows, including at the New Jersey Chapter of the American Artists' Professional League. She had one person shows at the Watchung Art Center in 2000, and at the Westfield Art Gallery in 2005. Ms. Kolar's work is emotive and her use of color is masterful based on a highly practiced and prolific hand. Upon her recent passing, her works became available at a sale of the contents of her estate.
