Description: 130 year old Antique MR (Martial Redon) Limoges, France porcelain tea cup. Hand Painted and decorated by CRA. Measurements: Diameter: 2⅜ inches Height: 2⅜ inches Depth: 2¼ inches Width (w/handle): 3¼ inches Marks: (The base has two marks): The manufacturer's stamp: The green underglaze whiteware, "M R France" (Martial Redon) mark, used from 1891-1896, as cited by Mary Frank Gaston's Collector’s Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, 3rd edition, and The blue decorator's mark, "Limoges" over "C R" underlined over "A" over "France". I've seen this mark on a couple of other pieces however no one has any information regarding who it belongs to. ** This makers mark dates the piece to 1891-1896. Condition: Very good pre-owned, antique condition, especially for a piece that's around 130 years old! Super thin, but hardy, lightweight porcelain with hand-painted, scroll-like decor. There is some wear to the gold gilding from use, especially on the handle. Some wear along the rim, as well. (See last 3 photos). There are no chips, cracks, or crazing.
