Description: In 2002 Taylor Guitars of El Cajon, Ca. unveiled the much-anticipated Liberty Tree Guitar Series built of wood salvaged from the last of 13 majestic Liberty Trees (one in each Colony) under which Colonists gathered to plot the American Revolution. The last surviving Liberty Tree, a 400-year-old tulip poplar, was still growing on the St. John's College campus in Annapolis, Maryland until Hurricane Floyd irreparably damaged it in September 1999. A month later, experts decided that the 90-foot-tall living Revolutionary War landmark had be cut it down.Taylor Guitars co-founder/president Bob Taylor, an avid American history buff, purchased enough of the salvaged Liberty Tree wood to make a Limited Edition run of about 800 guitars. This is one o them, the Liberty Tree Baby Taylor guitars. The back and sides are made out of that very wood from that historic tulip poplar. A Laser-etched inlays of the scrolled Declaration of Independence, thirteen stars (one for each of the original Colonies) inlaid around the sound hole rosette, and a Colonial American flag. The Baby Taylor Liberty Tree Guitar is a rare collectable which will only appreciate in value. A true historic relic of the intrepid American spirit of 1776.
