Description: LESTER YOUNG - Carnegie Blues w/ Coleman Hawkins, Illinois Jacquet, Oscar Peterson, Buck Clayton (Vinyl LP 2018) Review from another site:The great tenor-saxophonist Lester Young toured with Norman Granz's traveling jam session Jazz at the Philharmonic during 1949-53 and occasionally afterwards. This in-concert LP contains three selections in which Young is backed by the Oscar Peterson Quartet in 1953, a pair of excerpts (all that survives) from jams in 1946, a ballad medley from 1957 (on which he plays "Polka Dots and Moonbeams") and, best yet, versions of "Tea for Two" (with trumpeter Joe Guy) and "Carnegie Blues" (which also features the trumpeter Buck Clayton and the tenors of Coleman Hawkins and Illinois Jacquet) in 1946. Although not essential music, this set is quite enjoyable and has its exciting moments. -- Allmusic FACTORY SEALED, PRISTINE. Satisfaction Guaranteed! FREE MEDIA MAIL SHIPPING TO DOMESTIC ADDRESSES.
