Leica M2-R, 1969, Rare Military Model, good user condition

Description: One of 2000 made, very nice user conditionYou can do a net search for the history of this camera, the purported cancelled military contract under which it was built and the subsequent offering up for sale to the general public, but essentially this is an M2 body with a self timer that came from the factory with the M4 era rapid load spool. Legend has that it was built to military specs with special sealing but who knows. Its a great, relatively uncommon M2 and one of the last made.Well loved condition, as can be seen in the photos. A few minor nicks, bright marks, meter mark. Vulcanite intact and appears to be original.Fully operational and has performed flawlessly for me. I have a few M2s and personally prefer the manual spool vs the quickload, so it doesn't get out to play as much as it should.It is, however, a delicious body to shoot.
