Description: Details: Law enforcement uniform shoulder patch from the Shawnee County (Topeka, KS) Sheriff’s Department. This is a defunct patch that was used in the mid-1990s under Sheriff David Meneley. Current patches for this law enforcement agency are not the same as this patch. The subsequent Sheriff (Dick Barta) decided he ran an “Office” as an elected official, not a “Department” like a lowly appointed official, so he changed the patch. Merrowed edge with embroidered seal of the state of Kansas in the center. Condition: In great condition with hardly any visible wear on the front, although the wax coating on the back is mostly worn off. Comes from a non-smoking home but who knows if the Sheriff’s officer that wore this patch was a smoker or not. I do have pets, but they rarely wear my law enforcement patches.
