Description: A LARGER and very well frosted piece very rare DEEP RUBY RED beach combed sea glass; very smooth even frosting and in top jewelry quality. Lovely soft oblong shape. Very "fine" frosting, typical of genuine sea glass from Puerto Rico. Has been painstakingly "end drilled" by my friend whose sea glass stock I am currently selling; she had a sea glass jewelry business but is now pursuing other interests. Red is often considered the most prized color among sea glass collectors, and comes from very limited production glass. This piece most likely came from limited run of Schlitz "Royal Red" beer bottles, made only in 1949-50. Quite a treasure for any jewelry maker or collector! Selling off the best of a 30-years+ personal seaglass collection, beach combed primarily from the Pacific Northwest, California, Puerto Rico and Hawaii; almost all in FLAWLESS condition or excellent jewelry quality. Includes many rare and popular colors in jewelry quality. Once it's gone, it's gone... the beaches these pieces came from have mostly been picked clean now, so there is no more to follow this. Condition, etc.: Piece is in very well frosted condition with all corners and edges soft and rounded; clean hole, "soft" frosting typical of Puerto Rico sea glass and about as nice as they come. It measures almost 1 1/8" (27mm) long by just under 5/8" (16mm) across, and is just about 3/16" (4.5mm) thick, at thickest. Just a lovely smooth piece in a very rare color; lovely shape — impressive size for genuine red sea glass! Please check all the photos!
