Description: Pair of German solid silver free-standing fighting cocks or roosters with detailed modeling of feathers and overall form, likely a product of Hanau, Germany, circa 1900 and typically made of 800 standard silver, weighing 35.65 troy ounces, one measuring approximately 5 5/8 inch from base to top of head and 8 1/2 inches from base to top of tail feathers and approximately 3 1/2 inches deep at mid-body, and the other measuring 5 1/4 inches high to top of head and 6 1/4 inch to top of tail feathers and approximately 3 1/2 inches deep. Both have multiple marks on one tail feather (see photos) with one mark containing "88" ? and another with star above and below the initials "RD" ?. One wing tip has been reattached with a laser hard solder and several feathers on the tail have been likewise been repaired. One feather on the taller rooster is missing a section (see photo), and several feathers are ruffled, otherwise in good condition.
