Description: Awesome LARGE three-dimensional copy etched in copper and printed in 1928: Marcantonio Raimondi’s Renaissance engraving after Raphael, “The Three Graces,” ca. 1500–1534. This remarkable heliogravure was printed from a copper plate photo-etched from the outstanding impression at the Bibliothèque National. It’s a quite convincing etched copy, I'm not sure what I'd think if I walked into someone's house and saw it hanging framed on a wall. One of only 40 impressions printed on vèlin de Madagascar almost a century ago. Small remnants of mounting at top corners of reverse, two minute ink spots on back, and what appears to be a small ink smudge at back left corner. Please see the photos. Etched image: 13 x 8.6 inches; sheet: 16.75 x 12.25 inches. Shipped in archival glassine in a heavy-duty tube. Thank you for looking at my lot. I hope you’ll consider checking out my other listings, and enjoy your day! The British Museum: “The Three Graces, the Grace at centre is seen from behind, placing her left hand on the shoulder of a second Grace and extending her right hand towards a bunch of fruit held in the hand of the third Grace; three palm trees behind them and two overturned urns spilling water flank the group.”
