Description: Large Antique Hand Carved Chinese Asian Headboard Wood Panel 38'' x 19''. Beautifully carved and painted headboard/wood panel measures 38 1/4 inches wide, 19 inches tall and 1/1/4 inch thick and weighs about 5 pounds. Three panels depict (from right to left) 3 figures with a tree, middle section is 4 figures with brooms? and curtains on the sides, left side is 3 figures, one serving tea, basket of flowers and again curtains on the sides. All 3 sections have the sand sections for contour. Around all 3 sections is a geometric raised design. Then the middle wood band. Bottom section is carved scroll work and flowers - bottom half is openwork. Bottom wood banding and then a filigree openwork carved section with flowers, vines and leaves (there is a chip missing from the right side of this section). Carved sections on the front are painted with an almost copper/gold color. Back is painted red/brown and has 4 felt pads on the corners and a brass hook for hanging. There is a crack on the right back top corner - see photos. On both lower sections there are wood blocks - probably for attaching to the rest of the bed frame. B26 is written in marker on the back.
