It is large, measuring 10.25" wide, 10.25" deep, and 7" tall. The minimum size object it can hold is 7" in diameter, but that could easily extent to 20" (or something very large). I took some pictures with various objects (not included), the crystal bowl is 16" in diameter. It should easily support 20 lbs., and the object rests on 8 (4 x 2) level points (the tips of the wings). The piece is made of the finest quality materials, included hand-engraved bronze, and a beautiful marble slab. The style is Egyptian Revival, and this is a period piece from the end of the Napoleon III reign (circa 1870). The piece retains its original hardware, which can be seen on the underside, confirming its age. It is in excellent condition, free of concerns. The base is free of chips or cracks. The 2" in diameter flat bronze piece that sits in the center of the object just rests on top with a support hole, it is not fixed in place.
