Description: Large antique Chinese polychrome pottery roof tile mounted on a custom brass base, which appears to be an unwired lamp base. Figure is a warrior depicted riding a galloping horse. Dimensions: Full Height 17" x Full Width 12 3/4" x Full Depth 6 1/2". Base Length 9" x Width 6 1/2". Tile Height 15 1/2" x Width 12 3/4" x Depth 5 1/2". Weight: Full Weight 12 lbs. Weight w/out Base 8 lbs. Condition: Light wear and age related patina to brass base. Breaks and losses to figure's one hand (with an embedded screw) and horse's two hind feet. Break and repair to remaining hand. Crazing, flaking, chipping to glaze throughout. Flea bite chips to pottery throughout. Additional cracks to glaze throughout, I don't know if these are repairs, or firing flaws. Two specific cracks, one to horse's head and the other to its right front leg appear to have been filled in. Age is unknown but lamp base appears to be 1920s or 1930s and it could easily be rewired.
