Description: Very unique large pottery piece from an estate in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage of any type. Measures 16” x 13” x 5” deep and weighs nearly 10 pounds. Both the warm earthy tones and the free formed shapes are very natural and create a completely different look from every angle. Signed by Kaaren Stoner on the bottom. Definitely an eye catching piece in its Brutalist style as well as its large size. The color is a warm gold tan with a tint of green and splashes of darker brown. See photos for best description. This will be well packaged to arrive in the same excellent condition. About the artist Kaaren Stoner has been a working potter since 1969. She got hooked on clay when she took a pottery class while enrolled in a folk high school in Sweden. She has spent time as a studio potter in Northern Idaho and in Ohio before moving to Waynesville in 1998 to open Twigs & Leaves Gallery. The gallery is still open, but Kaaren now works in her home studio in the Iron Duff community eight-and-a-half miles outside of Waynesville. Kaaren's work is informed by her endless fascination with nature. Much of her work incorporates natural elements including leaves from trees growing on her land. Her functional pottery includes vases of all sizes and ikebana flower-arrangers in many sizes and designs; bowls, tumblers, and mugs for the table; and serving pieces including chip and dip sets. Her garden art includes wall art, birdbaths, and garden sculptures inspired by rocks.
