Description: Amazing Lara Bohinc 'Solar Eclipse' rose gold-plated large crescent/hoop earrings laser-cut in a sunburst design. These are 7.5cm in diameter and approximately 1.5mm thick. The hoops are open with a classic ear post and butterfly (please note that the original butterfly backs have been lost to the mists of time and replaced with yellow gold-plated ones as seen in the photos - this has been reflected in the price). The tips of each crescent have tiny LB initials impressed in the metal. In very good preloved condition. Material: Rose gold-plated brass. I don't remember what karat this rose gold plating is but the colour would suggest 14 karat. Lara Bohinc stopped designing jewellery (and accessories) under her own label some years ago and her designs have become very collectable, selling through reputable large auction houses in Europe (see Bukowski's for example where earrings sell for around £300 per pair) She has recently started designing furniture under her new label Bohinc Studio and she now also designs brass jewellery for the traditional Swedish brass factory Skultuna. This 'Solar Eclipse' design is exceedingly rare these days. Note: This laser-cut design is sometimes also referred to as 'Tatjana'.
