This resin was used as an ingredient for incense and also for medicinal purposes like cold, cough, menstrual problems and rheumatism. Labdanum aka Rock Rose is a dark brown viscous liquid with a warm, sweet resinous, woody ambery odour, with strong notes of ambergris.It is extracted from the glandular hairs which cover the leaves of the shrub.
